Adult Nursing Relationship
ANR
An Adult Nursing Relationship, or “ANR”, is a relationship in which two adults share regular breastfeeding as a source of closeness, comfort and intimacy. It’s less about a single act and more about an ongoing, nurturing bond between a nursing partner and a nursling.
What makes it a relationship
The heart of an ANR is consistency and connection — a shared ritual that builds trust and tenderness over time. For many couples it becomes one of the most grounding parts of their day.
How people start one
It usually begins with an honest, unhurried conversation about desires and boundaries. From there, couples take it gently and at their own pace. Finding a partner who genuinely wants the same thing is the first step — and where a verified, welcoming community helps most.
Common questions
Is an ANR always sexual?
No. Many ANRs are entirely about comfort and bonding. Others include intimacy. Both are valid — it’s defined by the couple.
Do you need to induce lactation for an ANR?
No. Plenty of ANRs are “dry” — nursing without milk — and are every bit as close and meaningful.
