Adult Baby

AB

An adult baby, often shortened to “AB”, is an adult who enjoys stepping into a much younger, carefree headspace. It’s less about pretending and more about permission — permission to set down adult stress and feel small, safe and looked after for a while.

What being an adult baby actually looks like

It varies hugely. It might mean colouring, watching cartoons, cuddling a favourite plushie, using a pacifier or bottle, or being tucked in with a bedtime story. It’s a form of self-care as much as anything — a reset button for a busy mind.

AB vs. little

People sometimes use “adult baby” for a very young headspace and “little” more broadly for anyone who regresses to a younger age. There’s a lot of overlap, and everyone draws the line differently. What matters is what feels right and safe for you.

Common questions

Is being an adult baby sexual?

For many people it’s entirely non-sexual — purely comfort and regression. For others it’s part of intimacy. Both are normal; the community respects both.
